Techie Homeschool Mom ~ a TOS review

Today I am excited to introduce you to the tech-based learning discovery experiences of the Solar System Online Unit Study from Techie Homeschool Mom. A homeschool mom herself, Beth Napoli, the creator of Techie Homeschool Mom has created this interest based unit study all about the Solar System Online Unit Study through a virtual school platform with a goal to inspire homeschooling families to make use of all the digital learning opportunities online.

Getting started was super easy! I just logged in and set up our account and then we were ready to set off on our learning adventures. With 10 unit study categories you will be able to dive deep into space and all that lies beyond. Each category is further sub-divided into specific topic including:

~ Planetary Orbits

~ Gravity Planets

~ The Rocky Planets

~ The Gas Planets Comets, Asteroids and Meteors

~ Final Project

All of the unit studies from Techie Homeschool Mom are designed for middle elementary students who can read independently and are able to use the internet on their own. Each of the unit studies is a self study, self-paced course, because of this you have unlimited access to the curriculum on any device. Each module within the curriculum takes roughly 2-3 hours to complete.

This was our first experience with Techie Homeschool Mom unit studies and McKenzie, my 3rd grader, and I have enjoyed working through the product. McKenzie loves science and this study was right up her alley and mine with just the right balance of hands-on learning. We just took our time and worked slowly through the modules as it fit into our schedule.

While I am not so sure that Unit Studies are our thing, we were happy to be able to use this curriculum for the last few weeks. McKenzie has learned a lot of interesting facts about the solar system and it has sparked a tiny bit of excitement about exploring more of space and and the earth.
