Weekly Wrap Up ~ Big Boy Gibby, week TWO

I really need to concentrate on staying "home" more during the week. It is a challenge to get things done with school when I am running here, there, and everywhere. Gymnastics training is still on summer schedule and Madison had a Girl Scout function to attend, plus the Summer Olympics has all of us staying up way too late, ahem. But we made it through week two without me getting too frazzled.

Tuesday morning all three older girls had somewhere to be as well as Micah having his ENT appointment that has been scheduled for 2 months. After making arrangements for everyone to get where they needed to be we all piled into the Honda Odyssey to go and the LCDR realized that we were all really packed in like sardines. So, after Micah's appointment we stopped by the local Nissan dealer to test drive a Nissan NV Passenger.

I have wanted to upgrade to this vehicle for 2.5 years (I even have the brochures for the 2014/2015 models) and finally on Tuesday the time came. I test drove a white NV and fell in love. The space is amazing and it handles like a dream. I have driven Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon XL Denali's in the past, and I knew I did not want to go back to one of those models because we have two children in full size car seats that take up a lot of space. I am not too sure why Nissan calls the NV 3500 a van because it definitely drives like a truck. It is after-all, built on the Nissan Titan's chassis. I love that is am not so low on the ground anymore in our power wagon.

The LCDR is a car buying guru! Not only did he get the price we needed to sell our 2015 Honda Odyssey off but he negioated the price down for the NV and my payment is $10.00 less than the Odyssey, score! We ended up getting a black SL model and we have nicknamed it, Big Boy Gibby :-) {Bonus points if you know what show Gibby was on. It was one of the Nickelodeon shows that I liked watching with the girls}. Here are a few pictures and I will post more pictures once we put the rear seat dvd's in and after I have driven it more, but I really do love it!

Mikayla and McKenzie's training this week was switched around so that Mikayla finished at 130 P.M. each day instead of having double days on Tuesday/Thursdays. She was able to attend the live screening party the gym put on Tuesday afternoon for the Women's Team final. Go U.S.A as they won GOLD! We have loved watching all of the Olympic competition. I cried during the All-Around competition when Ally and Simone clinched their Silver and Gold medals. I also cried as Micheal Phelps stood on the podium for his 22nd Gold medal and when Simone Manuel won the 100m freestyle. Truly amazing individuals they all are (I was just super emotional that night, LOL)!

As far as school goes, things are going rather smoothly, just the way I like it. Work is getting completed and the girls are learning and retaining information. My grammar group finished our papier-mache sun. It was a fun hands - on activity that everyone enjoyed. This year I have started having the girls complete a Draw ~ Write Storybook page about something they learned this week on Fridays. I hope to get them to really put to paper what they know about one subject. Chemistry has been going great for Madison! I was worried she would not fully grasp the significant figures concept, but she's got it and will be ready to take the Module 1 test when school resumes in two weeks.

Yes, you read that right. We are taking a week long break and heading on vacation to the beach. Everyone has been looking forward to this for the last few months, I can't believe it is finally here. I am going to do my best and document our week for the weekly wrap up. I am going to be brainstorming scheduling ideas in my mind over our break. I need to figure out a way to get some extra time in with my older girls and their studies. I am looking forward to summer gymnastics training coming to an end and school year morning training's starting for both Mikayla and McKenzie. The schedule is supposed to be released this coming week, so I am looking forward to that.

That was our week in a nutshell, how was your week?
